Christy Sheridan has worked as a professional musician for the last twenty years earning great respect both home and abroad. Christy has toured extensively in America, Asia and Europe as a member of the renowned ballad group Diarmuid O'Leary and the Bards.Click this link to visit the official bards website http://www.thebards.ie

His solo album entitled "Silver Notes" features Irish airs played primarily on mandolin, an instrument that has very little exposure in relation to recordings of Irish music. In the making of this album, Christy was joined by some good friends and colleagues. John Sheahan from The Dubliners and Martin Fay formerly of The Chieftains are just some of the musicians who contributed and played on this recording.

Indeed, it is John Sheahan who best describes the tone and atmosphere of this unique album"...Christy weaves a tapestry of sound to clothe these ancient tunes in finery fit for a princess. Listen to a marriage of wood and time and music."

As Christy has pointed out to the listener " the tunes on this album are the result of a life long love affair with music and especially with the music of Turlough O'Carolan."
